Dillington House, just outside of Ilminster, was formerly the home of George III's Prime Minister, Lord North. The house is one of the most beautiful in Somerset and is included in Simon Jenkins' England's 1000 Best Houses. Accommodation is divided between the historic manor house, the Victorian mews and the new Hyde building - Winner of the 2010 RIBA Regional Architecture Award. The setting is in parkland and there are several fine gardens, an arboretum and a newly planted orchard. Dillington has good communication links being just off the A303 and less than 20 minutes from the M5J25 Taunton. Private helicopters may land at Dillington with prior arrangement.

From M5J25 and Taunton (20 mins)At J25 follow the signs for Ilminster travelling on the A358. After 8 miles turn left at the Brown Tourist sign for Barrington Court and Dillington House.Keep on this road until you arrive at a T-junction. Turn right. Dillington House is mile on left.From A303 EastLeave A303 at the Hayes End roundabout signposted for Ilminster town centre.Esso garage on left. Pass over the Lopen Head roundabout and continue throughSeavington St. Michael. Dillington House is 2 miles further on the right.From A303 WestOn approaching Ilminster leave the A303 at the roundabout and follow the signs to Ilminster. Cross the roundabout at the bottom of the town and continueup the hill. Turn left at the top of the hill on the B3168 signposted for CurryRivel, Langport and Dillington House. Dillington House is 1 mile on theright.The nearest train stations are at Crewkerne and Taunton.
